The coffee selection is really quite good. A novelty was that they asked if we wanted our mocha with 1 or 2 shots of espresso 🤭 We also grabbed a cookie to try and were left surprised—it was fresh and not too sweet. True, there isn't much space inside the café, but it's cozy.

A very very nice cafe! I would definitely say my favorite cafe in Kaunas. After visiting, I wanted to work here myself... 🙈 The matcha is very delicious and high quality! It's hard to find a place that makes good AND cheap matcha. And the cookies are really delicious too! I'm not really a sweet tooth, but I even like these cookies. :)) All the female staff are very friendly (the cat is very friendly too).

Everyone praises the cookies (deservedly so), but this was the best matcha I've ever tasted! Rich and high-quality flavor 🍵 The espresso tonic was also a pleasant surprise ☕️

Introduction If I were to be objective, I’d have to put it simply: good coffee, a neat interior, homemade desserts, and friendly service. But for some reason, I really don’t feel like being objective when it comes to “Kava Virė.“ Because I’m not going to evaluate it as a customer this time. I’m evaluating it as a witness. I first heard about this place back when it wasn’t even a „place“ yet. The Beginnings About (maybe) three years ago, on the online news portal “Kaunodiena,” amid a sea of trivial news, there was an article about Judita and a small coffee kiosk. It was such a modest, almost shy story about a person who decided to give it a try.It piqued my interest, and to be honest, it didn’t seem like a business to me, but rather a great act of courage. Stories like that always unsettle me because they remind me of how many things I myself never dared to do. But she did. I was just reading. But for some reason, it turned out that I felt as if I were participating in it a little bit myself. Back then, it all seemed like a romantic act of courage, a dream—a small coffee shop in a big city! The Beginning And so, a year and a half ago, she opened her first café in Kaunas’s Old Town, on Palangos Street. As far as I remember, it was only open on Thursdays. Two cookies in a glass box. Chairs that looked makeshift. It seemed that if the wind blew a little harder, everything might vanish. But it didn’t. And for some reason, that made me feel good. The Present Now there are even two cafes. This time—on Mickevičiaus Street. I came here during my break, almost on the sly. A coworker, seeing me put on my jacket, joked: “Going to splurge again?” “Maybe,”—and the dusty silence settled back into its usual rhythm. But if I’m going to splurge, then so be it. After all, we all—absolutely all of us—splurge. And some don’t even know where their lives are going.I, at least, know: my money turns into a cup of coffee, warmth, and ten minutes of peace. The word “kavukas“ on the street sign made me stop by.If I’m going to spend money, I’d rather do it at places like „Kava Virė.“ To me, that’s a fair deal. Interior The space is small, but it’s the kind of place you want to linger in. There are photos of the staff on the walls. It’s not coffee “branding”—it’s almost like a family album. A cat on the electrical panel door. A drawing that says “Kava Virė.” For me, these kinds of charming details—which serve no practical purpose—are the most important. You don’t feel like a customer, but rather a guest who’s been invited into someone’s home. Coffee I won’t pretend or say that the coffee is the best or the most delicious, because it might not be. But it’s authentic—one of those coffees you sip slowly. The kind that warms your hands and heart more than it showcases notes of acidity or bitterness. And somehow, that’s enough for me. Baked Goods This is where my weakness lies. Everything is baked in-house. No unnecessary additives, no artificial flavor enhancers, no sweeteners. Cookies, cakes, all sorts of experiments. And as I’ve heard, macarons—those capricious, technically challenging creations that even seasoned kitchen pros shy away from—will be making an appearance soon. Prices Some people say it’s a bit pricey. But I always think this way: if someone baked it with their own hands, maybe it should cost a little more. We pay for phones, for taxis, for unnecessary things, but when it comes to handmade goods, we suddenly start trying to save money.Sometimes the price is simply a matter of respect for the effort, especially when it’s made with love—and that’s priceless. The Atmosphere The greatest strength of this café is the feeling it evokes. You sit by the window. You drink your coffee. You watch people rushing down the street. And suddenly you realize that the world can go on without you. And it doesn’t even hurt. It’s peaceful. Rarely does a place allow you to be at peace with yourself like this. Observation Still, I think this café is more for young people, students, their laughter, and their plans. Maybe it’s time to make way for others. But I’ll still come back a few more times—to see how they’re doing, how the cups are changing, How new baked goods appear. How what was once just a small kiosk is growing. Conclusion That’s all I wanted to say in this long text. Petty critics of the longest poem “describing a beautiful day,” using every artistic means of expression, would say that it says nothing more than that the day is beautiful. However, it is incredibly difficult to describe that a day is beautiful—and that a beautiful day passes. It doesn’t really matter to people which days are beautiful and which aren’t, because in any case, there are days of one kind or another. I highly recommend it!

Wow. Very tasty coffee. I saw one girl who praised the pumpkin spice latte, I'm not a fan of coffee with syrup, but this is different. The syrup doesn't overpower the coffee at all.

I've been visiting Kava Kore for a very long time. I used to go more to the one on Liberty Avenue, but I fell in love with the one in the Old Town. The best coffee - it doesn't feel like a milkshake, you can really feel the coffee taste. It's best to order a flat white, if you want it stronger - ask for 3 shots. Now there's a PUMPKIN SPICE LATTE - and it's the best in KAUNAS!! There's no artificial flavor, because they make the syrup themselves. You can feel the natural autumn flavor, cinnamon, nutmeg, maybe ginger? Both the baristas and the manager are very cool! Anyway, it's a very good place to learn. You squeeze into a corner inside and no one bothers you

A few years ago, I bought a gift certificate here for Christmas for my colleague at work, although I had never been there before, but I had heard a lot about those impressive cookies, so I thought, wow, so we decided to try them, because what else could we do? 😁 It was quite late in the evening, so we didn't manage to try the Red Velvet cookie, which is a real shame, but there were Kinder Bueno and pistachios left in the window - unreal! Lots of cream, soft cookies, the taste is amazing..🫠 Pleasant service, very beautiful and cozy environment. I really liked it 🫶🏻

Very cozy cafe. The room is small, but beautifully decorated, so it has a unique character. We drank lattes and ate cookies, the coffee was delicious (they asked if we wanted stronger or weaker coffee). The cookies (snickers and Oreo) were amazing, I liked the snickers better. We will come back 🥰

The most amazing cafe in Kaunas! It is impossible to even think of any bad words about this place. The employees greet you with a smile, they are kind, they look like one big family. In short, I have never experienced such service in any institution in my life, how much fun it is to visit here. And I have nothing to say about coffee, matcha and cookies. Top top everything 👌. Cookies are fresh, soft, delicious, matcha is absolutely fabulous, compared to chains like caffeine or vero cafe, it is the best here in terms of price and quality. It is really fun to visit you and I hope this atmosphere will last for a long time.

It doesn't matter if you open the door of the cafe for the first time or the 10th time, you are always greeted as an extremely welcome and beloved friend. The coffee is the best in Kaunas (and maybe in Lithuania, I'm not lying), and the cookies are not only fantastic, but also constantly surprising with new flavors. If you stop by without breakfast and don't feel like having something sweet, they will offer you a tortilla, croissant or sandwich. Oh my god, they are so happy with their four-legged visitors that they not only pamper them, treat them with treats, but also hang their photos on the walls of the cafe😍 in short, the best place in the whole world

Very tasty coffee, friendly staff. They bake their own cookies that taste and look unreal. On weekends they also bake Belgian waffles. The atmosphere is cozy, the cafe is in a great location. Literally 10 out of 10😎
